Teaching Aims:
1. Students can master the grammar of unit4-6 well, including if clause,, the usages of adjectives and adverbs and the past continuous tense.
2. Students can use the grammar skillfully.
Teaching procedures
Step I Warm-up
Greet to students, and tell students the grammar points that we will review in this class.
Step2 Task one
1. Give Ss some situations, and ask students to make sentences as many as they can by using ‘if clause’, the second one should follow the last one’s sentence.
2. Show Ss some pictures and ask them what they will do if they meet these things.
3. Do exercises about if clause.
Step3 Task two
1. Tell students that these exercises are a little difficult, but all of them did a good job. It means they did well. Lead in the relationship between adjectives and adverbs.
2. Let students compare adjectives with adverbs, finish the exercises and say out the when and how we use them.
3. Finish the exercises by themselves.
Step4 Task three
1. Let students talk about their activities at Christmas by using the past continuous tense, they can act the activities out and let others guess.
2. Show when we use the past continuous tense and how to use ‘when/while’.
3. Finish the exercises, they can check the answers in groups.
Step5 Conclusion
Finish more difficult exercises and check them in pairs.
Homework:
1. Review the grammar.
2. Write down your New Year’s plans by using the grammar points.
